Wiring up trailer lights usually means cutting into factory wiring, but this harness keeps things simple. The Curt T-Connector plugs directly into the tail light connectors, giving you a 4-pole flat trailer plug without any splicing. It’s a clean plug-and-play setup that connects in the rear cargo area so you don’t have to run wires all over the vehicle.
Instead of pulling power from the factory light circuits, the built-in powered converter draws directly from the vehicle battery. That keeps the vehicle wiring protected from overload while delivering steady power to your trailer lights. The converter ensures reliable operation for running lights, turn signals, and brake lights even when towing long distances or at night.

The connectors and instructions were good overall. Removing and installing the trim on the drivers side took longer then expected. The biggest problem I encountered was the rear door wouldn't close, it would beep twice and nothing. After trying various things to reset, to include restoring to original, with no avail. I gently closed the door by hand and then the auto lock engaged and issue was resolved. As expected the foot sensor doesn't work anymore, rarely used it anyway, turned off on the settings to prevent accidental opening.
While the 2021 Toyota Venza is not officially tow rated, the hitch kit here bolted right up perfectly and has met my expectations. Definitely worth purchasing if you have a Venza you plan to haul a light trailer with.
Outstanding quality wiring harness! AND YES the C57ER model does fit perfectly the 2024 VENZA LTE. Thanks again etrailer for a great experience. Now here are some hopefully helpful tidbits for anyone attempting to install this harness.
Follow the instructions since they are good. Except, in Step 3, you only need to loosen the drivers sidewall. Not necessary to repeat for the passenger panel. Once you do Step 1 that reveals the battery area which is all you need for connection of positive lead. A suggestion for Step 5, is to not do this until you have done Step 7 and have all connectors properly installed. It is easier then to position the black converter box and associated wiring. NOTE as for Step 8 this is not needed for installation on the vehicle since you already install the brown/red leads in Step 4! Skip Step 8 and move on! One last thing to remember is that you need to install the white wire with the ring terminal for connection to ground. The steps in the installation instructions does not advise you to do! It is stated on the bottom of page 6 with wiring diagram. I did not take any pictures but not sure if they would have added much to the installation instructions provided. A few hours of careful routing of wiring and you got yourself a nice hitch ready to go!
The product was a bit more difficult to install than your video implied ( the plug behind the bumper was exceptionally difficult to unplug) and the included double sided tape was clearly past its expiration date. When I removed the protective covering it wouldn't stick to itself or anything else.
I put the trailer wiring in a 2021 Toyota Venza. The wiring harness and associated parts were good. The installation instructions were somewhat difficult to figure out. Installing the wire harness was difficult. All of the floor panels and pieces around the spare tire have to be taken out. The most difficult part was removing and reinstalling the driver side panel that goes from the rear hatch door to the rear door. To enable access for the part of the wiring harness that goes thu the floor to connect to the taillights below the bumper.

I have no complaints, the connector is still working wonderfully
I liked the product. I modified the install in that I put the trailer connector through the rubber grommet. I cut and butt connected the jumper harness and the 4-pole connector. I cut the 6 wires about 4-6 inches from the black box and poked the 6 wires through the underside of the grommet and butt connected each one, so much easier than trying to push the male and female plug through the grommet. I thought it was much neater to have the harness zip tied to the trailer hitch and not have to dig into the rear hatch to be able to plug it in. I have the Curt 53201 Auxiliary Automotive LED Light Strips for Hitch Cargo Carrier, Bike Rack. So I use it a lot.

Still working perfectly. One thing to note is that the brake and signal lights on the 2021 Toyota Venza are completely obscured with my Thule hitch in both the lowered position and the folded up position. I ordered 2 sets of lights, CURT 53201 Auxiliary Automotive LED Light Strips for Hitch Cargo Carrier, Bike Rack, 2-Pack CURT. 1 for each position of the bike rack, lowered or folded up. I joined them with, Trailer Wiring Harness Universal 4 Way Flat Y-Splitter Plug and Play Adapter Extension Harness for LED Tailgate Light Bar and Trailer Lights
This was fairly easy to install AFTER watching the video made by the folks here at Curt. I did find one thing that I did not like about the harness and that is the way that it goes through the floor of the vehicle. The video shows you how to remove the grommet in the floor and pass the enitre harness, plugs and all, through that grommet. With the limited space you have available this seemed fairly difficult. What I did to remedy this, and maybe Curt could modify the harness, was to cut the 4 wire and 2 wire portions that go through the grommet about 8" from the control box. Then I made just a small hole in the grommet, no need to remove it, and passed both wire bundles "up" through the grommet and then using but connector I reattached all wires. Other than this slight modification the installation, quality and overall product I feel if very good. Works as expected after installation!!!

Wiring harness delivered 4 houses away from mine. The neighbor was nice enough to drop it off. and the hitch for the 21 Venza is nowhere to be found

This was not available in Canada yet for my Venza. Was exactly what I wanted was plug and play wiring. The video and instructions where easy to follow and took me 1 hr from start to finish.
The installation went smoothly and all connections matched. I had to replace the car it was installed in with the same car. I will order this same kit again and hitch

Application: 2023 Toyota Venza. Took a couple of hours and everything hooked right up, no problem. Works perfectly on my home-built bike rack!
Very easy to hook up. Have not tested it yet but there shouldn’t be any reason for it not to work. Very basic connections and if you follow the installation video it’s a piece of cake.

Used multiple times and no complaints after a year. Very happy with it
I received my order from etrailer this past Friday. Friday night I installed the hitch in an hour. Saturday it took me about 5 hours to install the wiring kit. This may seem like a long time but this is my first experience with a car install like this. etrailer’s directions and video were outstanding. The most difficult part of the job was detaching Toyota’s wiring plugs. If I were to do the job again, I bet I could do it in under an hour! A great experience for me, so glad I did it. Looking forward to trailing my daughter’s stuff back and forth to school!
Great product, went in exactly how it should. The directions could be clearer. But having mechanical skills and knowledge. You should have no problem putting it in.
Directions were thorough, just hand tools were required to install and it worked first try. Spend the extra on the no-splice wiring kit, it pays dividends.
Everything except a screw gun for setting the ground wire and a few other items was in included in the package.
For my 2022 Venza, the 21 Venza install Video was a bit off/confusing. The installer removes the left interior side panel and instructs you to remove the right one next, which sets my wheels in motion, at least.
After connecting the left wiring connectors and pushing the second set through the grommet, I was ready to proceed to the right, as per the previous instructions. I couldn't find the next connection. After getting the car up on blocks, I located it underneath the car in the far back left corner (driver's side). The rest of the install went pretty smoothly.

I don’t use it often, but when I have, it works well
The box came with holes exposing the content of the box and causing scratches to the surface of the receiver of the hinch. The wire harness in the other hand came with no fisical damage.

After installing it test it, and worked very well i did a long drive pulling a trailer 4x8 and another one 5x9 dont remember exactly the numbers but I used and it worked very well on my 2021 venza I did not have to use extra hardware just what it came with the hinge.

The installation of the harness is more involved then some when accessing the plug locations. I recommend going slow and completing all the installation steps carefully. You can use double sided sticky tape if the tape from the harness is not holding.
